SEE (Class 10) GPA Calculator FAQs

Answers to common questions about SEE exam grading and GPA calculation.

In SEE (Class 10), the minimum passing grade is D (1.6 GPA), which corresponds to 35-39% marks. Each subject must individually meet this threshold to pass. If any subject receives NG (Not Graded) status (below 35%), you cannot pass the SEE exam overall.

SEE has 8 compulsory subjects: Nepali, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Health and Physical Education, Optional (varies), and Practical Science. Students can select additional optional subjects depending on their school's offerings. Each subject typically carries 4.0 credit hours.

Yes. Optional subjects count fully toward your SEE GPA calculation. They have the same weight (4.0 credit hours) and grade scale as compulsory subjects. Your final GPA is the average of all subjects you appear in, whether compulsory or optional.

The maximum GPA in SEE is 4.0, achieved when you score A (80-100%) in all subjects. This represents the highest possible achievement. Most universities consider a 3.6+ GPA in SEE as excellent for competitive scholarships and admissions.

After passing SEE with no NG subjects, you advance to Class 11. In Class 11, you choose a stream: Science, Management, Humanities, or Education. Each stream has different subject combinations and GPA calculation methods. Use our Science Calculator or Management Calculator for Class 11 GPA.

In SEE, practical marks are weighted based on subject type. Science subjects have theory and practical exams (75% theory + 25% practical), while subjects like Nepali and English are theory-based. This calculator automatically accounts for these weightings. Your final subject grade combines both theory and practical performance.
